Apple River State Bank was chartered in 1947 and remains a locally owned financial institution. 

As the Bank evaluated the local market, it concluded that a branch located in the expanding community of Galena was a means of enhancing it's long-term opportunities and offering true community banking services. As a result, the Bank opened it's first full-service branch called First Community Bank of Galena located on Highway 20, East of Galena. Since it's opening in August of 1995 the branch has realized deposit growth of $80,000,000.

The Apple River State Bank has embraced a philosophy that places customer needs and service above everything else. The Bank's pricing of it's services reflects that emphasis by it's consistent policy of competitive fees on all deposit and loan products. In addition, the Bank has recently initiated the offering of trust, investment, and long-term fixed mortgages to better serve our local market. Finally, the Bank is committed to maintaining a strong financial presence in our market.
